Has the Danish Royal Brothers’ Feud Finally Come to an End?

Tensions are reaching a boiling point within the Danish royal family, with all eyes eagerly watching as Crown Princess Mary and Crown Prince Frederik reunite with his estranged brother, Prince Joachim, and Princess Marie on November 12.

The couples convened at Copenhagen City Hall for a seated lunch as part of Queen Margrethe’s 50th Jubilee celebrations.

However, instead of a joyous occasion, the foursome found themselves under strict instructions from the Queen to exhibit impeccable behavior.

According to a source, the Queen finds herself in a distressing situation during what should be a celebratory year, and Prince Joachim is seen as the key to restoring harmony by portraying a united front in Denmark.

The saga commenced in September when Queen Margrethe declared her decision to remove the princely titles of Joachim’s children, Nikolai (23), Felix (20), Henrik (13), and Athena (10).

Joachim openly expressed hesitations about returning to Denmark once his tenure at the Paris Embassy concludes next year, stating, “We’ll see.”

While the eruption of the Danish royal family feud may have appeared sudden, underlying tensions had been simmering beneath the surface for a while.

Reports emerged indicating that Joachim and Marie were exiled to France in 2020 following a rift with Mary and Fredrik.

Revelations have surfaced regarding the reason behind Fredrik distancing himself from his brother.

Spanish publications, including Vanitatis El Confidential, alleged that the Crown Prince was devastated when Joachim developed romantic feelings for his wife.

Although Queen Margrethe maintains that her decision to allow her grandchildren to lead ordinary lives was aimed at safeguarding the monarchy’s future, many believe it had the opposite effect.

Royal expert Trine Fellmann describes the situation as a genuine crisis, tarnishing the public’s perception of the Queen and the royal family.

As the Danish royal family navigates through this tumultuous period, the upcoming reunion between the siblings and their spouses holds significant importance in mending fractured relationships and restoring public faith.
