Archwell Under Fire: IRS Scrutiny Unveils Financial Controversies

The charitable organization Archwell, founded by and , is currently facing intense scrutiny from the IRS over its financial practices and grant distributions.

Recent tax documents have raised eyebrows, revealing a stark contrast between the donations received and the expenditures made by the organization.

In 2020, Archwell reportedly garnered a mere $50,000 in donations.

However, the charity's spending painted a different picture.

They shelled out over $55,000 in legal fees associated with the creation and subsequent dissolution of their previous charities, Sussex Royal and the MWX Foundation.

The latter was forced to change its name after the Queen prohibited the use of royal titles in their branding.

Further complicating matters, Archwell's tax filings disclosed that while the organization paid out $163,085 in salaries, Harry and Meghan were clocking in just one hour of work each week for the charity—amounting to a scant 52 hours a year.

The CEO, James Holt, drew a salary of $59,846, along with additional benefits totaling $3,832.

Holt initially served as a board member without compensation before stepping into the CEO role.

One eye-catching detail from the tax documents is the revelation that Archwell received an astonishing $10 million from a single anonymous donor, contributing to a total of $13 million raised in 2020.

The identity of this benefactor remains shrouded in mystery, leading to speculation that it could be a wealthy acquaintance or business associate of the couple.

Despite Archwell's mission statement, which emphasizes uplifting communities through acts of compassion, the charity's financial activities have come under fire.

The tax filings indicate that only $3 million was allocated in grants to various causes, primarily focusing on refugee resettlement and COVID-19 vaccine distribution.

Notably, Georgetown University was the largest recipient, receiving $500,000 for a program addressing global media and misinformation.

Critics are vocal about their concerns, accusing Harry and Meghan of using Archwell as a façade for money laundering and tax evasion.

There are also allegations that the charity serves as a platform for advancing their political agendas and personal branding efforts.

The choice to incorporate Archwell in Delaware, a state notorious for its lenient corporate laws and low taxes, has only fueled these suspicions.

Since relocating to a lavish $14 million estate in Montecito, California, the couple has assembled a team of lawyers, publicists, and agents to manage their public image and business ventures.

However, their popularity has been waning, particularly in the UK, where many view them as opportunists and traitors.

Their controversial interview with , where they made serious yet unsubstantiated claims against the royal family, further tarnished their reputation.

The backlash was swift, with many in the public expressing outrage over their assertions.

Now, with the IRS investigation looming and the latest tax filings revealing questionable financial practices, Harry and Meghan's credibility is on shaky ground.
