John Cena Unleashes on Meghan Markle: “A Terrible Person”
In a fiery exchange on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, wrestling icon and Hollywood star John Cena didn't hold back when discussing his views on Meghan Markle.
The former WWE Champion, currently promoting his new comedy film Vacation Friends, took the opportunity to voice his strong disapproval of the Duchess of Sussex and her actions alongside Prince Harry.
When asked about the royal couple's recent controversial interviews and projects, Cena's response was nothing short of scathing.
He labeled Markle as “selfish” and “dishonest,” claiming she has betrayed both her fans and her family.
“I think she is a terrible person who has no integrity or loyalty,” he stated bluntly.
His criticism didn't stop there; he accused Markle of being a liar and a hypocrite, expressing that she lacks respect for herself and others.
Cena recounted his personal experiences with Markle during their time working together on the TV show Suits back in 2016.
He described her demeanor on set as “rude, arrogant, and demanding,” asserting that she often acted superior to her colleagues and treated them poorly.
“She was a nightmare to work with,” Cena lamented, recalling how she would disparage her co-stars behind their backs.
In stark contrast, Cena praised his Vacation Friends co-star Lil Rel Howery, highlighting his professionalism and kindness.
“Lil Rel is awesome.
He is funny, kind, and professional,” Cena said, emphasizing how different Howery's attitude was compared to Markle's.
“He was always on time, prepared, and respectful.
He is everything that Meghan is not,” he added.
The actor also revealed that he turned down an offer to appear in a Netflix film produced by Markle and Prince Harry.
“I was offered a role in a film that Meghan and Harry were producing for Netflix, but I said no,” Cena explained.
His refusal stemmed from a lack of interest in supporting Markle's projects, which he referred to as fraudulent.
Expressing his feelings about Markle's treatment of the royal family, Cena articulated his admiration for the monarchy, describing it as a symbol of history and tradition.
“She has shown no gratitude or appreciation for the royal family, who gave her a chance and a platform,” he stated.
Cena hoped that Markle and Harry would cease their negative commentary about the royals and focus on their own lives instead.
“They should just keep quiet and mind their own business,” he asserted.
Cena stressed that the couple made their choice and must live with the consequences, insisting they have no right to criticize or interfere with the royal family.
His comments reflect a growing sentiment among some who feel Markle has overstepped her bounds.
The backlash from Cena's remarks ignited a heated debate on social media.
Supporters praised him for his honesty, while critics slammed him for his perceived rudeness.
One Twitter user declared, “John Cena is my hero,” echoing sentiments that Markle deserves to be called out for her actions.
Conversely, another user defended Markle, labeling Cena as a jerk and calling her an inspiring figure deserving of respect.
As the controversy unfolds, it's likely to generate buzz for Vacation Friends, which premieres on Hulu on August 27.
Directed by Clay Tarver, the film boasts a talented cast, including Meredith Hanner and Yvonne Orji, promising plenty of laughs.
Meanwhile, sources close to Markle and Harry have reportedly expressed disappointment over Cena's comments.
They are contemplating legal action, feeling hurt by his harsh words.
As the drama continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how this public spat will impact both Cena's career and the royal couple's ongoing narrative.
