Princess Catherine’s Brother Shares Heartfelt Update on Her Recovery

In a rare public statement, James Middleton, brother of Princess Catherine, has provided an update on his sister following her announcement of being in remission from cancer.

During an exclusive interview on Thursday, he expressed that while he can't divulge specific details about her health journey, she is receiving the necessary support and care.

James emphasized the importance of time in processing such significant changes, stating, “It's not for me to share on her behalf how everything's going, but she's getting all the right support.”

As Catherine gradually reenters royal duties, she has begun to engage with her early years project behind the scenes and attend church services with her family.

This marks a hopeful step forward as she continues her recovery after a challenging year.

James, who shares a close bond with his sisters, also reminisced about their family traditions, particularly celebrating milestone birthdays.

He fondly recalled how Catherine and their sister Pippa received beautiful jewelry for their 18th birthdays, while he humorously noted his own gift was a tractor.

James, now 37, is acutely aware of the public's fascination with his family, especially given Catherine's status as the future queen.

In his new book, he opens up about his personal struggles with clinical depression and suicidal thoughts.

His journey led him to seek therapy, allowing his family to understand the depth of his challenges.

He shared that it was crucial for his parents, Carol and Michael, to hear from a professional that his mental health issues were not a result of their actions.

The support from his sisters played a vital role in his healing process.

James explained that once he began to comprehend his struggles, it became easier for his sisters to communicate with their parents.

This newfound openness has fostered a more honest dialogue within the family, making discussions about mental health a regular occurrence at their dinner table.

Throughout the past decade, James has gifted two dogs to Catherine—Lupo and Orla.

He believes that Orla, a Cocker Spaniel, provided vital emotional support during Catherine's recent health battles.

Reflecting on his own experiences, he noted how pets can be a great comfort during tough times.

James stated, “I know how much the dogs have helped me take my mind off things, so I'm certain Orla is doing her job in supporting her family.”

Orla even made an appearance in a recent video message from the Princess of Wales, where Catherine confirmed she had completed her chemotherapy treatments.

The clip featured Orla running alongside the royal couple and their three children—Prince George, , and —offering a glimpse into their family life.

The Middleton family has a long history with dogs, dating back to James breeding a litter in 2011.

Lupo, one of the puppies from that litter, was gifted to Catherine in 2012, coinciding with 's deployment to the Falklands.

Sadly, Lupo passed away in November 2020, a loss that was deeply felt by the family.

They shared their sorrow on social media, stating, “Very sadly, last weekend, our dear dog Lupo passed away.

He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years, and we will miss him so much.”

Now that Catherine has completed her cancer treatment, many are curious about her return to full-time royal duties.

While the palace has not made any official announcements regarding her schedule, reports suggest she has been quietly working on projects that resonate with her interests.

However, specific details remain under wraps.

As the holiday season approaches, royal watchers are eager to see if Catherine will host her annual Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey.

Additionally, there is anticipation surrounding her participation in the traditional Christmas Day walk with other members of the royal family after church.

With each passing day, it seems that Princess Catherine is steadily reclaiming her place within the royal fold, supported by her loving family and her cherished pets.

The journey may be gradual, but it is filled with hope and resilience.
