Breaking News: Queen Elizabeth II Passes Away at 96

The nation is mourning the loss of Her Majesty The Queen, who has passed away at the age of 96.

Plans are being made for a state funeral to bid a proper farewell to the beloved monarch.

II is survived by her four children, eight grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.

However, there is speculation about whether the youngest members of the royal family will be in attendance at her funeral.

The royal family faced a tragic loss in 2021 with the passing of the Queen's husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, on April 9th at Windsor Castle.

In a somber ceremony at St George's Chapel in Windsor on April 17th, Her Majesty, along with her children and grandchildren, said their final goodbyes to .

Notably, none of his great-grandchildren were present at the funeral.

's funeral took place amidst strict social distancing measures in the UK, as the country was in Phase 2 of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Roadmap to Freedom plan, which restricted indoor gatherings.

Despite this, many of the Duke's great-grandchildren likely would have attended if not for the regulations, as seen at his memorial service at Westminster Abbey on March 29th.

During the memorial service, Prince George and , the children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, were present alongside other young members of the family.

This included Mia, the eldest daughter of Zara and Mike Tyndall, as well as Savannah and Isla, the daughters of Peter and Autumn Philip.

James Viscount Severn and Lady Louise Windsor, the children of and the Countess of Wessex, also attended.

While there is no official protocol prohibiting children from attending a sovereign's funeral, it is possible that the youngest royals may be excused from the event due to its solemn nature.

For instance, , the four-year-old son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, might be considered too young to comprehend and behave appropriately at such an occasion.
