In a poignant display of love and respect, members of the royal family gathered to witness a solemn vigil held for their beloved mother, the late Queen.

The emotional scene unfolded as , , Prince Andrew, and stood watch over the Queen's coffin, mirroring the ceremonial vigil they had previously performed at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh.

This time, the vigil took place at Westminster Hall in London, where the Queen will lie in state until her funeral on Monday.

As the Queen's children paid their respects, other royals, including Queen Consort , observed in silence.

The atmosphere was heavy with emotion, reflecting the deep sense of loss felt by the family.

Prince Andrew, the Queen's second son, was notably allowed to wear his military uniform—an exception made by , given that Andrew is no longer a working royal.

This gesture underscored the significance of the moment, as Andrew, who served in the Falklands, stood vigil by his mother's coffin.

His daughters, and Princess Eugenie, were present, watching their father honor their grandmother.

Beatrice's husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, was visibly moved during the vigil, appearing to wipe away tears as he processed the weight of the occasion.

The unity of the family was evident as they all came together to remember the Queen.

Among those in attendance was 's husband, Vice-Admiral Sir Tim Lawrence.

Having served as the Queen's equerry since 1986, he shared a close bond with Her Late Majesty.

Sir Tim has remained a steadfast presence by Princess Anne's side since the Queen's passing on September 8, accompanying her on the somber journey from Balmoral to the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

The vigil also saw the presence of Princess Anne's family, including her daughter Zara Tindall and her husband, former rugby player Mike Tindall.

Their two eldest children, Mia and Lena, leaned over the stands, eager to catch a glimpse of the proceedings below.

The innocence of youth contrasted sharply with the somber atmosphere, reminding everyone of the legacy the Queen leaves behind.

Young royals Lady Louise Windsor and her brother James, Viscount Severn, were also present, adding to the familial gathering.

The presence of these younger generations highlighted the continuity of the royal lineage and the shared grief among them.

Sophie Wessex, Countess of Wessex, was seen alongside her children, reflecting on her own close relationship with the Queen, whom she affectionately called “Mama.”

Just days earlier, Sophie had been spotted fighting back tears as she viewed tributes left by the public outside Balmoral Estate.

Following the Queen's death, it was announced that Sophie would assume many of the late monarch's former royal patronages, including the Women's Institute and Dogs Trust.

While the Queen's grandchildren were present at the vigil, King Charles's sons, and , were noticeably absent.

However, both are expected to participate in a unique vigil planned in honor of their grandmother.

This event symbolizes a shared commitment to remembering the Queen and celebrating her life.

Interestingly, although the partners of the Queen's grandchildren were not expected to attend this vigil, King Charles made a significant gesture by allowing to wear his military uniform for the upcoming tribute.

This decision reflects a desire to honor the bonds of family, even amid the complexities of royal duties.
