Queen’s Return Sparks Health Concerns Over Hand Coloration

Royal enthusiasts rejoiced at the sight of the Queen back in public life, but some were quick to express worries about the unusual hue of her hands.

The purple tint seen in recent images has raised eyebrows, with many suggesting it could signal a health issue known as peripheral cyanosis.

This condition often arises from problems related to blood circulation and arterial supply.

During her latest engagement, Her Majesty donned a lovely floral dress, radiating elegance and charm.

This appearance marked her first public outing since she missed the Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph on November 14, a significant event for the nation.

The Queen held an audience with General Sir Nick Carter in the Oak Room at Windsor Castle, celebrating his departure as Chief of the Defence Staff and Principal Military Advisor to the Secretary of State for Defence.

Concerns regarding the Queen’s hand color are not new.

Two years ago, similar observations were made when she greeted the King and Queen of Jordan at Buckingham Palace.

At that time, royal watchers noted the same discoloration, prompting discussions about her health.

According to the NHS, while hands and feet typically maintain a normal temperature, poor blood circulation can lead to noticeable changes in color.

Cyanosis can manifest as a bluish tint on various parts of the body, including the lips, tongue, gums, ears, or skin.

Such symptoms often indicate insufficient oxygen levels and may stem from issues related to the lungs, airways, or heart.

Given the Queen’s age and recent health challenges, these signs have understandably caused concern among her supporters.

Buckingham Palace took to Twitter to share details of the Queen’s meeting with General Sir Nick Carter, emphasizing the significance of the occasion.

The announcement followed a period during which the monarch had been advised to rest, leading her to miss several important engagements, including the opening speech at the COP26 climate summit.
