Willem-Alexander was visiting friends, while Maxima happened to be capturing moments with her camera.

Maxima recalls that she didn’t have the best impression of Willem-Alexander at first.

Just a year later, they welcomed their first daughter, Amalia, into the world, followed by daughters Alexia and Ariane in 2005 and 2007.
