Hired Cheers Can’t Drown Out the Booing: Meghan and Harry’s Controversial Visit to Manchester

In a recent visit to Manchester, the atmosphere surrounding and was anything but welcoming.

Despite reports of a hired mob cheering for the couple, the genuine sentiments of the crowd were loud and clear—many were not pleased to see them.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, didn't hold back her criticism, stating that Meghan's speeches often revolve around self-praise rather than meaningful engagement.

As the couple arrived, they were met with a mix of applause and boos from a crowd of around 100 people.

The booing was so pronounced that it was hard to believe the Sussexes didn't hear it.

Just moments before stepping out of their car, Meghan and Harry faced a barrage of discontent, with one protester boldly brandishing a sign that read, “F.O.

Harry and Meghan.

Fake Royals.”

Among the dissenters was a woman named Janet, who voiced her strong disapproval of Meghan.

She labeled the Duchess as a liar and a hypocrite, accusing her of launching an attack on the royal family.

“She's a fake humanitarian and a fake feminist,” Janet declared, adding, “She thought she could be a celebrity in the royal family, but she's the most toxic, divisive woman I've ever heard of.”

The skepticism didn't stop there.

A young Australian woman took to social media, calling Meghan's seven-minute speech on gender equality a “trainwreck.” In a TikTok video, user gowokeorbroke expressed her frustrations, suggesting that Meghan's delivery felt rehearsed and insincere.

“Everything that comes out of her mouth seems contrived,” she remarked, indicating that Meghan's attempts at authenticity fall flat.

Gowokeorbroke further critiqued Meghan's aspirations to emulate media icons like , arguing that she lacks the genuine struggles that define such figures.

Instead, she described Meghan as a “diva” and a “spoiled brat,” suggesting that her public persona is at odds with her private life.

“It's tough to connect with her true self when everything feels like a facade,” she lamented.

In the midst of this backlash, Piers Morgan also weighed in, launching a scathing critique of the couple during an episode of his talk show.

He hosted a panel discussion featuring broadcaster Jenny Kleeman and BBC News' international editor, Jeremy Bowen.

Jenny suggested that Meghan may not have fully grasped the implications of marrying into the royal family, but Piers sharply disagreed.

“I think she understood completely what she was doing,” Piers asserted, expressing his belief that Meghan is leveraging her royal connections for personal gain.

He portrayed her as an actress adept at manipulating her public image to secure fame and fortune.

His sentiments resonated with many who feel similarly about the Sussexes' motivations.

Esther Kroek, another panelist, proposed that Meghan might be viewed more favorably if she renounced her royal titles and simply embraced her identity as .

However, Piers remained unconvinced, insisting that the couple's return to the UK seemed aimed at bolstering their royal status while simultaneously disparaging the monarchy.

He criticized their actions, saying, “They come back here to boost their royal status because that's where the money is.

Yet, they trash the monarchy and the other royals.” This sentiment reflects a widespread frustration among those who believe that the Sussexes are trying to have it both ways.

As the dust settles from their controversial visit, it's clear that Meghan and Harry's relationship with the public remains fraught.

The cheers from hired supporters could not mask the underlying discontent that many feel towards the couple.
