But in a rare move, Edoardo was welcomed into the fold before the couple even said “I do.”

This break from convention echoes a similar moment in 2017 when Prince Harry invited Meghan to spend Christmas with the royals before their marriage.

At that time, she celebrated with the family while her own relatives were across the pond in the U.S.

This precedent seems to have inspired Beatrice to extend the same courtesy to Edoardo, allowing him to partake in the royal Christmas celebrations.

In stark contrast, other royal partners like Kate Middleton and Mike Tindall had to wait until after their respective weddings to join the holiday gatherings.

Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal commentator, pointed out that Kate wasn't invited to Sandringham until after her engagement to William.

Similarly, Mike Tindall faced the same fate after becoming engaged to Zara Phillips.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo said their vows on July 17, 2020, at the Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
