Royal Couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Set to Return to Canada

The royal duo had previously called Canada their home after stepping away from their roles within the Royal Family back in 2020.

Known for their philanthropic endeavors and advocacy work, the couple is set to embark on a journey to Whistler, Canada, later this month to commemorate the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games.

The upcoming event holds significant importance as it marks the inaugural winter edition of the Invictus Games, a sporting competition initiated by nearly ten years ago to support and honor sick and injured military personnel.

Canada holds a special place in the hearts of Prince Harry and Meghan, as it was where they initially settled after their departure from the United Kingdom before eventually relocating to Montecito.

Chris Ship, ITV's esteemed Royal Editor, took to his platform to confirm the exciting news, stating that Prince Harry and will be revisiting Canada, the nation where they first established their post-Royal life.

Their visit to Whistler in February is not only a personal milestone but also marks the countdown to the highly anticipated Invictus Games 2025.

The previous edition of the Invictus Games, held in September 2022 in Düsseldorf, Germany, was a resounding success for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The couple actively participated in the event, engaging with attendees and showing their unwavering support for the competitors.

Notably absent were their children, Prince and Princess , who remained in their California residence, shielded from the public eye.

During their time in Germany, Prince Harry and Meghan attended a reception hosted by the Canadian delegation, promoting the forthcoming Invictus Games that will feature winter sports for the first time.

The significance of Canada in their journey together was highlighted, as it was in Toronto during the 2017 Invictus Games where their relationship flourished, culminating in their engagement later that year.

While residing in Canada, the couple, along with their young family, found solace on Vancouver Island in a lavish £14 million property in North Saanich, British Columbia.

The commitment and support from the Canadian and British Columbia governments, with an investment of nearly £20 million, underscore the significance of hosting the Games in February 2025, with consultations ongoing with the local indigenous community.

In a statement on the Invictus website, the Duke of Sussex expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, emphasizing the global platform it provides to showcase winter adaptive sports.
