Prior to the release of Endgame, efforts were made to distance the Sussexes from the book, with claims that they had not contributed to its content.

Despite this, the fallout from the book may jeopardize any chances of reconciliation between Harry, Meghan, and the Royal Family.

In 2017, II made an exception to the royal rule to allow Harry and Meghan to attend Christmas at Sandringham, and the following year, they spent the holiday with Meghan's mother after Archie's birth.
