Not Allowed to Wear Spencer Tiara

, the Duchess of Sussex, wouldn't have been permitted to don the iconic Spencer tiara during her marriage to .

The reasoning behind this decision is quite straightforward – Meghan was entering the royal family, not the Spencer family.

Although 's late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, was born a Spencer, her sons, and Harry, do not use their mother's surname.

They are part of the royal family and go by the name Windsor.

Additionally, Meghan herself is not a blood relative of the Spencer family.

Renowned author and journalist Tom Bower revealed in his book “Revenge” that members of the Spencer family, including William and his wife Catherine, were perplexed by Harry's assertion that Meghan embodied his late mother.

A tweet from a prominent Meghan Markle supporter, Robin Lynn King, highlighted a tweet from an account believed to belong to Meghan, where she mentioned that the Spencers had offered her the Spencer tiara, and a wedding veil was even designed around it.

However, when the Queen realized the potential negative impact on the royal family's image, she intervened.

According to Harry's memoir, he claimed that Meghan was offered the opportunity to wear the Spencer tiara, with the veil designed to complement the tiara's distinctive scalloped edges.

This information aligns with a report from the Daily Mail, a publication favored by the Sussexes.

The Spencer tiara, often associated with , is not personally owned by her but is a cherished family heirloom passed down through generations of Spencer women, including Diana's sisters Baroness Jane Fellows and Lady Sarah MacCorkdale.

The question arises: why would Charles Spencer, Diana's brother, allow Meghan to wear the tiara but not extend the same privilege to Catherine?

It seems that Harry believed his uncle and aunts approved of Meghan as a fitting representation of their late sister, Diana.

However, as per Tom Bower's book, their sentiments contradicted Harry's assumptions.

There is doubt surrounding the claim that the Queen pleaded with Meghan to choose a royal tiara, as such behavior would not align with the late monarch's demeanor.

Although Meghan never had the chance to meet , Prince Harry had hoped that his mother's family would see similarities between the two women.

Unfortunately, as discussed in “Revenge,” Harry's expectations were not met when introducing Meghan to Diana's relatives and friends.

They failed to perceive any resemblance between Meghan and the beloved Princess of Wales, and instead, harbored doubts about Meghan's compatibility with the royal family.

Mr. Bower further delves into Prince Harry's interactions with Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, and how William urged him to express the family's concerns about the rushed nature of Harry and Meghan's relationship.

This intervention led to a strained dynamic between Harry and his uncle, as detailed in “Revenge.”

Despite Harry's desire for his family to embrace Meghan as they did Diana, it became evident that the two women were not perceived in the same light by those closest to Diana.
