Royal Designer Criticizes Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Fashion Choices
An interior designer with close ties to the British monarchy has spoken out against the fashion sense of Prince William and Kate Middleton, accusing them of being overly conservative and lacking in sophistication.
The designer, who is well-acquainted with the royal family, expressed his disapproval of the couple's penchant for wearing matching shades of blue in numerous public appearances.
He remarked on the repetitive nature of their attire, particularly noting the young Princess Charlotte's aversion to wearing white.
According to him, the royal couple's fashion choices reflect a lack of creativity and a tendency towards a dull and unremarkable upper-class image.
In a scathing critique, the designer compared the current royal wardrobe to that of previous generations, pointing out the lack of diversity and flair in their clothing selection.
He likened their style to mannequins in a department store window, devoid of personality or individuality.
Additionally, he criticized Prince William and Kate for engaging in what he deemed as trivial and immature activities such as playing football and games, suggesting that they lack refinement and sophistication in their pursuits.
The designer highlighted their absence from cultural events like literary dinners, reading special books, or attending the theatre, implying a lack of intellectual curiosity and cultural engagement.
Not stopping at fashion choices, the designer also took aim at traditional royal ceremonies, specifically citing flypasts as a symbol of commonness and repetition within the monarchy.
He derided the practice of flypasts at events like Trooping the Colour and the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, labeling them as mundane and overdone.
Expressing disdain for the perceived banality of such displays, he questioned the necessity of continuous flypasts and suggested that they no longer hold the same allure or prestige they once did.
Furthermore, he criticized the atmosphere at prestigious events like Wimbledon, lamenting the perceived decline in elegance and exclusivity, contrasting it with the sophistication of past eras.
Drawing a comparison to the late Queen Elizabeth II, the designer praised her wit, intelligence, and sophistication, highlighting her distinguished qualities as a contrast to the perceived shortcomings of the current royal generation.
In another development, Prince William expressed regret over Kate Middleton's absence during his visit to Singapore, citing her commitment to assisting their son, Prince George, with his academic endeavors as the reason for her stay in the UK.
The Prince emphasized the importance of environmental conservation initiatives during his speech at the World Wildlife Summit 2023, underscoring the Royal Foundation's dedication to finding innovative solutions to global challenges through projects like the Earthshot Prize.
