**Lady Louise Windsor and Brother James Pay Tribute at Queen’s Vigil**

Lady Louise Windsor, the eldest child of and Sophie Wessex, along with her 14-year-old brother James, attended a solemn vigil to bid farewell to their late grandmother.

The siblings, dressed in somber black attire, stood with bowed heads at West Minster Hall, where the late monarch will be lying in state until Monday morning.

Their mother, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, was visibly emotional as she watched her children honor their grandmother alongside her husband .

The young royals, including William, gathered at the top of the Grand Committee staircase in West Minster Hall at 5:58 pm for the poignant vigil.

As the clock struck 6:00 pm, a solemn tapping signaled the changing of the guards, prompting a procession to begin.

William led the way down the steps, followed by other members of the royal family, each pair walking side by side in a show of unity and respect.

In a moment of quiet reverence, Lady Louise and James, clearly moved by the occasion, lowered their heads in tribute.

The two brothers, clad in military uniforms, took their positions at the head and foot of the Queen's casket throughout the brief 15-minute service.

Meanwhile, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips flanked the Prince of Wales, and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie stood beside .

As the public paid their respects by passing through the hall, the Queen's grandchildren maintained their vigil, with some visitors visibly moved to tears.

At 6:15 pm, another tapping signaled the conclusion of the solemn moment.

The grandchildren, led by William, respectfully withdrew from their positions one by one, marking the end of the vigil.

Prior to the vigil, Lady Louise and James' parents, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, greeted well-wishers outside Buckingham Palace.

Edward expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support, stating, “I know that my mother would really appreciate this fantastic support.”

Sympathetic messages were shared with the couple as they acknowledged the condolences from those gathered outside the Queen's residence.

The vigil led by the Queen's children – , , Prince Edward, and – took place the previous night, with each royal positioned at a corner of the Queen's casket in Westminster Hall.
